Contemporary Stained Glass, Craigievar
Yesterday Mike and I installed a large contemporary panel, produced by Morning Glass Designs to a design by Gabi Reith. The clients initially approached me in late 2008, with a view to commissioning a piece for a cottage they were renovating near Craigievar, Aberdeenshire. Gabi produced the initial designs in Spring 2009, just as the major reconstruction work started on the property.
The design is a based on a simple flowing river, with abstracted fields bordering the river banks. The glass is a mixture of modern and antique, with some hand made and reclaimed Victorian pieces for good measure. A few more pictures of the whole window can be seen here.
