On the Bench: Victorian door panels
Every now and again I like to post an image of what we're working on in the studio. This week we've got two door panels - a typical half door and and a long light. Both of them were damaged in their upper section - one by a football, one simply due to the geometry of the design and lack of support.
The upper part of this half door light was badly damaged, in part due to lack of support. At some point the tie wires had been removed and replaced with horizontal steel reinforced lead.
The right hand panel shows impact damage. We'll re-lead the upper part of this one.
