In long, complex projects, simple tasks along the way that seem insignificant at the time can sometimes be significant events. Today we started making the screen-printed separations for the Stonehaven sculpture, the first step in making the complex moulds onto which the sheet glass will be fired.
Tracing the full-size digital printouts onto drafting film.
The tracings will be printed onto both Bullseye Thinfire and ceramic fiberpaper. The Thinfire will be placed on the kiln shelf, and used to locate the hundreds of individual fibrepaper mould sections.
