Market Arms, Aberdeen

Tucked away behind the Carmelite Hotel, opposite a shopping centre, the C-Listed Market Arms is one of Aberdeen's true forgotten buildings. A rare example of a Victorian public house, many of it's original features (including timber stall risers, fretwork vents and timber panelling) are still complete.

The pub, and five flats above, were recently awarded a £67k Green Townscape Heritage grant for repairs, including the reinstatement of the etched glass windows (pictured above) and stained glass lights (below). Morning Glass will carry out repairs to the stained glass, while Stephen Richard of Verrier, Glasgow will reproduce several of the existing etched glass panels.
